Hot Pink Rose Cut Sapphire Slice Sterling Hearts Pendant
Hot Pink Rose Cut Sapphire Slice Sterling Hearts Pendant
Sapphire's crystal structure is hexagonal in nature, and this hot pink slice sports shimmery hex patterns in her depths. Very challenging to get that in photos so hopefully you will see the patterning in the images. The sapphire is hugged by a fine silver bezel that has been soldered down to a sterling silver backplate. I had so much fun working with the stamped heart shapes and teeny spheres that were added in a leaf-like design around the stone. Each heart was meticulously sawn from silver sheet, filed by hand, then domed and filed some more to make the desired 3D effect when soldered to the backplate. I was able to sneak one more heart into the bail, which is soldered to a spiral loop. This particular pendant backplate was fashioned from recycled sterling silver scrap that I smelted and formed into sheet with the roll mill. This pendant is offered without the chain, so if you desire an appropriate chain at additional cost, just let me know in convos. The pendant is light and comfortable, and seems to look great at any length I've tested.
The pendant hangs 43 mm including the bail, with the stone measuring roughly 22 x 14 mm.
Lynde Howe Silverworks takes pride in crafting timeless, high-quality wearable art that can be passed down for generations. Each piece is carefully "wear tested" to ensure both comfort and exceptional design. Traditional metalsmithing techniques, including forging, forming, and soldering, are used to create each handmade creation. From start to finish, I put my heart and soul into every item, often using recycled materials to add an extra touch of sustainability. While each piece is unique, I occasionally offer small collections of similar designs. My signature mark is a symbol of my passion and dedication to handcrafting each piece. Please note that handmade items may have slight variations or imperfections, but that only adds character and charm to the finished product. With time, sterling silver may develop a natural patina, which I believe only adds to the beauty and texture of the piece. To maintain its shine, a gentle polish with a cloth is recommended. As a special touch, I include a polishing pad with every order.
