Rosecut Amethyst Trillion Roll Print Sterling Silver Earrings

Vintage style Trillion Rose Cut Amethyst stones grace the roll printed and hand formed sterling dangle. The shapes compliment one another well, with the patina bringing out the texture in the dangly piece. The earrings were made by building a fine silver bezel to hug the stones, which was then soldered to a roll printed backplate. The dangles were roll printed, sawn by hand, filed, formed, and polished prior to adding to the backplate with two soldered jump rings. After adding the bail so the earrings could hang from hand forged silver earwires, I gave them a strong oxidizing, then selectively rubbed off the excess to bring up the texture. The earrings are light and comfortable, passing the wear test smoothly.

The stones are 8mm on a side, overall length a shoulder-dusting 72mm, about 2 7/8 inches.
