What a great combination of stones! Turquoise cabochons are linked to roughly triangular Chrysocolla in agate to become a lively, freely moving dangle earring. Known as Sugarwater Agate to some, this Indonesian stone is being harder to source in good quality. Enjoy its bright summery vibe, the patterns roll printed on the backplate, and take a peek at my essential message to you: Made with Love.
Turquoise rounds measure 6mm; Chrysocolla Agates measure 13x28mm/~0.5x1.25 in. Overall length is 2.5 in. Weight is 7.2 grams per earring.
Lynde Howe Silverworks strives to create wearable art pieces of solid quality intended to last generations. Each creation is 'wear tested' to ensure comfort and design excellence.
Traditional metalsmithing techniques are used in the fabrication of my pieces, such as forging, forming, fold-forming, piercing/sawing, soldering, applying patina, chasing and repousse technique, filing, hammering, stamping, burnishing, buffing, and polishing, to name a few. All items are handmade 'from scratch' and sometimes 'from scrap' for recycling the metal. The pieces are nearly all one of a kind creations, though I will occasionally make small series design runs. You'll know it's one of my creations by the makers mark I try to sneak in wherever possible. "Hand Made" means there can be small differences or imperfections that are proof it was made with love by a human being!
Sterling silver will oxidize over time. I consider it a maturing of the metal and love the effect when the silver is gently polished to re-expose the shine on top and yet spare the recesses to remain deeply oxidized, adding depth to the texture of the piece. I recommend a polishing cloth rather than a harsh liquid based cleaner, and I'll include a small polishing pad with your order.
